Simon Elcock has joined the team as a Programme Manager looking after Telephony, Online Consultations and the roll out of the Digital Journey Planner.
He brings with him over 30 years of experience working in IT, with the last 13 years working at a large GP practice in Lancashire as an IT Operations Manager.
During his time, he has overseen the implementation and support of technologies such as VOIP telephony, video consultations and Facebook Live and brings to the team a practical understanding of the deployment and support of new technologies within the health and social care sector.
Like many of the Redmoor team, Simon, from Higher Walton, is able to empathise with the challenges being faced by primary care.
He said: “I am delighted to be working with Redmoor. I am excited and apprehensive. There is a lot to learn on the digital front.
“Primary care is so busy at the moment and trying to get back on track after the pandemic. A lot of things like the digital agenda have been placed on the back burner. It is hard for staff to find the time to understand and implement technology.
“One of the doctors I worked with explained it well – they said it is hard to stop digging the hole while a JCB is parked behind you. You have to invest the time to save time. It is about working smarter.
“Redmoor engages with hundreds of different practices and have a great feel for what works and what doesn’t, they are able to share that knowledge across the whole area. It can be a real game changer.”
