Redmoor Health has delivered an exciting programme in primary schools through its partnership with the Newsacademy. The programme was tasked with finding an exciting method of encouraging children on Y5 and Y6 to research and write about asthma.

The programme ran over 6 weeks across the Midlands and North West and involved trained journalists visiting the schools to coach the children in writing and research techniques. Using an exciting digital publishing tool, the children were then able to write up their own newspapers before being given the chance to ‘grill’ health professionals in a press conference.

Further sessions are planned for 17/18 across a range of health topics including mental health, smoking and alcohol use and diabetes.
